First "fair" for my 3 yr old and we were so excited! However, because he was 1in taller, we had to purchase an adult pass for him. Gets even better...he was not allowed to ride any of the smaller rides alone and the rides with an adult present, he did not meet the height requirement. Try keeping your cool when your lil man is devasted by his first fair experience. This is where I emphasize the importance of the Busch Gardens Pass in Williamsburg, VA! Beautiful, clean, completely toddler friendly and SAFE!
It's a county fair with Midway rides. It is on the expensive side for what you get. $15 or less would be a better price. Especially since this year the added even more attractions that cost money despite paying $20+ to get in. I think I saw 3+ rides that were $5 or more. Everything offered attraction wise should be included.
Would be better if it was bigger and had something to cover cords all over the walkways. Sucked they didn't have walkaround tickets for the weekend. Had someone with us who literally went on two rides. Also very few rides for kids younger than 4-5. Though it was small, my group stayed for almost 8 hours and had fun. I would possibly come at some point in the future, but maybe not. I grew up in SC and love their state fair! Also don't expect the food to be as interesting as state fair. Though they did have fried oreos. Also no barriers for lines so watch out for line cutters. Not long before leaving about 15 kids tried to cut in a line. After I'd already been waiting for 15 minutes! I had to call them out after someone else already called them out then literally put my hand up so me and my niece could go first. Pro tip: come early to ride most of the rides because the later it gets the more the lines pile up. Also they don't check bags so don't be afraid to bring some water and snacks.
All in all its good enough fun for our young family. We usually have a good time and can get on rides relatively quick (we go week days only).
Preschool day was a great price but only 5 rides? I saw several that were age appropriate but were closed- very disappointing. The animal expo was wonderful though
To summarize: a more reasonable prices and all attractions should be included.
We love going to the Cape Fear Fair & Expo every year. It has become a tradition and my son will have all those memories when he grows up. Happy fond memories. They do an excellent job. Security is always up to par. And the folks are extremely friendly. We look forward to this every year.
Games also should be a little less $ especially if the admission is kept high.
