Greenfield Park has a calm and inviting environment for anyone who is looking to exercise without any interruptions.
A great outdoor recreational area in the heart of Wilmington, NC. The park includes an off-road path completely encircling the lake suitable for bicycling, walking, and jogging. It runs approximately 4.5 miles in length. The Cape Fear River Watch operates a boat house most days (closed Tuesdays, I think) renting kayaks, canoes and paddle boats at reasonable rates benefiting the organization. Other facilities include a children's playground, a skate park, tennis courts, picnic tables and pavilions, and a couple of boardwalks out over the lake.
We went on a guided eco/bird walk tour at Greenfield Lake. The staff member was very knowledgeable and encouraged questions. The area was beautiful. Our guide said it is full of azaleas and started Wilmington's Azalea Festival. We look forward to visiting in the spring. We also plan to go back to try out the paddle board and it is now on my list for taking photos of the kids. We recommend tgis as a great place to visit for families, couples, individuals, or anyone looking for a nice place to take in the scenery.
Very nice place to take a walk or a run, they have paddle boats for rent.
If you don't mind the homeless sleeping in the bathroom. In the middle of the day it a great place to walk or take your kids to play. But it's best to leave by sun set. Lots of shady things happen there at night...
