The people on the phone were so rude. If the doctors hire the people who answer the phones I don't even want to know what the doctors are like.

I had a hip scope through Dr. Fortun. He was very thorough and took time to answer all my questions. I really like that he was a physical therapist before becoming an orthopedic surgeon- he must really know his biomechanics and anatomy and I feel that he wouldn't operate unless someone really needed it. My surgery went great and relieved all of my pain. The office staff was very friendly and personable. The office was always efficient and I never had to wait a long time.

Ok so was trying to transfer my surgery to here from Gastonia,Nc and I drop my records off and was told I'll be called. Well two weeks go by and nothing so I called back only to be told they lost them. So drove 45 minutes back there drop them off again and they called the next day with a appointment for two days later. I get there and they didn't copy all the paperwork I dropped off the second time and wanted me to drive back 45 minutes to get them and come back before they would see me lucky I had a copy on my phone, so then she says he wants to do x-rays I've had two in 40 days no way you doing it again when I was told they didn't need them before when I dropped off the records the first time. This place is a joke they don't care and I should have listen to the other reviews they are there for a reason!!! BEWARE!!!

February 2015, I spoke with Dr. Messina about pain in my right hip. After an x-ray he diagnosed arthritis in affected hip sending me to physical therapy after a steroid injection in the hip. Another steroid injection followed in early June, 2015. By then pain was an 8 on the ten scale, ten being severe. I decided to get a second opinion travelling to Chapel Hill June 29th. The Chapel Hill orthopedist debunked all of the Carolina Sports Med diagnosis showing me the real problem on x-ray: spondylosis in the L3-4-5 lower spinal vertebrae. Be aware & be wary...always get a second opinion

I've had the best experience here. I'd highly suggest it to anyone with pain.
