I just had an excellent experience at Derm One. Dr. Erin Stigall's sharp eye caught my melanoma early, and Dr. Landon Stigall did a superb "MOHS" procedure, leaving me with a barely noticeable scar. Thank you both so much!
Dr. Crane is great. He's a wonderful doctor and very personable to boot. However, the experience of dealing with this new company Derm One is horrible. You can no longer just call them even though they are blocks from your house, you must call a call center in Texas I believe it is. When you do call this call center they obviously know nothing about you and they don't care. Speaking to a representative you get the impression no-one is happy. Derm One is now by far the most impersonal physicians office you will deal with. When I first began seeing Dr. Crane there was a local, personal, caring feel to the office. Derm one is now nothing more than a machine, a factory, a cold lifeless BUSINESS. The patients are now nothing more than numbers, just sources of income, not people. Every time I go in now, no-one remembers me and Dr. Crane has multiple people with him when he sees me. I hope Dr. Crane moves on from this factory when his contract with them is up.
What happened? I went to Atlantic Dermatology 3 yrs ago and they were beyond great. I recommended them to friends...I went today and they are now a machine. When you make an appointment you have to go thru a maze of a menu and end up talking to someone from TX?? I live in NC. I waited nearly an hour for my 4 minute appointment. I saw Patricia Hood because the other 2 women I saw in the past have “moved on”. I don’t blame them. I will be moving on too. Ms. Hood had one foot in my doorway and one foot in the next exam room. You are a number if you decide to go to DermOne.
Just got home from my first time going to a dermatologist I had to wait as they took in other people that came in after me! When the doctor finally saw me for a full body check, he looked over me very quick and said everything looked fine! Never once checking everything I've heard they are supposed to do. I was in and out in 10 minuets I will find a more thorough dermatologist in the future!
