I was greatly disappointed with my stay at this hotel. The room I occupied was, according to hotel staff, undergoing a guest room renovation which was incomplete. The artwork was missing from the walls, with only empty hooks exposed in their place. I found this to be in poor taste; especially for an upgraded room, with an upgraded price. My room was left uncleaned during my stay. Upon reporting this oversight to front desk staff, I was blamed for either leaving a "do not disturb" tab in the door, or personally requesting that the room remain uncleaned; neither of which were true. As it was discovered later, a hotel staff person mistakenly requested my room be left uncleaned. As an attempt to compensate me for the inconvenience, I was offered a discounted rate for an additional night's stay. I requested the hotel comp one night of my two night stay, but staff refused that request, and would not contact the GM, at my request, so I could speak with him regarding the matter.
The staff is very friendly and helpful. The room was basic but comfortable and clean. The pool looked very inviting--wish we had had time to use it.
The room was awesome and was nicer than I expected. And after driving all day and been to a dozen other places trying to get a room and then I finally saw the sign for there and like always the experience is top of the line. .The room was amazing and u would expect to pay few hundred dollars for that type experience. And I know with out a doubt the next time I go to that part of n.c I Will not even try to look anywhere else. . Look for the best because it's way better than the rest. .
This was a nice hotel. Nice amenities, but we did experience a few issues. On a positive note the staff was very friendly and helpful and the free breakfast was nice. Unfortunately, upon returning to our room our first night we found small bugs crawling in the refrigerator at the leftover food we had stored. They did move us to another room immediately, but we found out this had happened to someone else in the same room the night before. Also, it was a little disappointing that the hot tub was not functioning at all. The indoor pool was too cold for me but the kids did enjoy it briefly.
Greatly Disappointed
My mother in law has muscular dystrophy and booked a "handicap accessible " room here..she doesn't complain about stuff so I felt the need to..she could barely get around her room. A handicap accessible room was on the 3rd floor? Just find that odd. The only handicap accessible thing about the room was the 2 poles around the toilet. the shower or tub were not accessible so she was not able to shower during her visit. She got super excited that there were chairlifts for the pool and the hot tub. We should've went and looked first before going to try the chairs. But anyways we spent 30 minutes just helping her to get her bathing suit on...get down there and the lifts don't work. Went to ask the guy at the desk and he said yeah they are out of order. There should've been signs! Do you know how excited she was to get in a hot tub for the first time in 20 years?! That was like a tease for her! Ridiculous! She wouldn't complain but I really wish something could be done to make this Situation better. So anyone in a wheel chair or scooter. Do NOT stay here. If you do...don't get too excited about getting in the pool or hot tub
