Excellent owners and staff, tv's all have guide and fast forward on demand options which is a nice feature I don't even have at home! In the process of upgrading certain parts of rooms. Bathrooms are upgraded which were nice, carpets and beds are apparently next.
By five stars, I do not mean that this hotel is the most lavish and luxurious hotel in the country. What I mean is that the value one gets for the price is absolutely superb. Yes, it is a budget hotel and has a few dings and dents, but it is clean and comfortable, with bright, cheery rooms and a very friendly and accommodating staff. The rooms are as cozy as those at much pricier hotels. It is located within walking distance of a great number of restaurants and is not very far from the beach. Each morning a continental breakfast is served which includes cereal and waffles and boiled eggs, a step up from the usual muffins-and-coffee that other places provide.
The parking lot is very brightly lit which is great for safety and security, but leads to my only (and very small) complaint: it can be hard to keep the light out of the room. If you can tolerate a little light seeping around the edge of the curtains, it's fine, but if you're the sort who needs it completely dark, then there'll be a bit of a challenge. Otherwise, you will be hard-pressed to find a hotel in Wilmington that will provide such a nice stay for such a low price.
Very nice. Convenient location. Freindly staff and clean
My family and I paid 145.00 for a room last night at the Wilmington, NC Jameson Inn. We arrived at approximately 4:30 and checked in. Upon arrival we stepped outside to the pool area and was greeted by the owner. He was with several friends by the pool. He was obviously intoxicated and his guests as well. There was loud music and a grill. We mentioned that we were going into our room to get our three children dressed for the pool and would be right back. This was approximately7:30 pm. We came back put to find a bike chain around the pool gate. He became agressive and stated that the pool closed at 8pm. The pool hours are until 11pm. He was fully aware that we had gone inside to dress the children and return immediately to the pool. We were obviously upset and asked for a reason the pool was being closed although it was obviously because three children in the pool would interrupt his party. We were then told to leave or he would call the police. We had done absolutely nothing wrong. My husband and i were humiliated and my children were terrified. I pointed out that he was intoxicated and he stated he was not working this day. Funny he was at the front desk and was the person who chose to close the pool which was a owner/manager decision. Not to mention he introduced himself to paying customers as the owner. Pointing out that he was intoxicated obviously upset him a great deal as that was when we were asked to leave. We asked before leaving if we would be refunded and were told no. He yelled and screamed at us in front of other guests and our children! On top of that we were in a town other than our own and had no where to go for the night. At 9 pm!!!
Budget-level hotel working hard to become mid-range with recent renovations and friendly staff. Rooms range from small & sparse to two room suites with a couch, chairs, and large desk. Amenities include a small gym, outdoor pool, and free continental breakfast. Centrally located with easy access to restaurants and shops. Small conference room is basic and only accommodates six people, but it's clean and sufficient for most purposes. Good value for business travelers and budget-conscious families.
